Chicago Luxury Condo Sales Resume with 11 Sales Over $2 Million in October

You might recall that as we headed into the fall months, Chicago condo sales were a bit of a question mark after a soft September. But looking at October sales, that month may have been an anomaly, as October bounced back with not only a healthy number of total sales, but several units in the “ultra-luxury” sector that sold for more than $2 million.

Another trend that returned was that most of the luxury Chicago condos sold—including the top five most expensive ones—boast more than 3,000 square feet of living space. The top five were also newer or brand new properties, showing that buyers are still looking for turn-key properties that offer ample space when it comes to shopping Chicago condos.

All in all, October saw $80 million in total sales for Chicago luxury condos, with 51 sales in total ranging from $1 million up to $3.7 million. Here’s a closer look at the top five most expensive, in descending order:

It was great to see the a strong month for Chicago condos as we head into the winter season. If you’re considering making a home purchase this is a great time of year to make it happen, as the competition among buyers often dies down, and many sellers are apt to make a deal so that their property does not sit on the market for another three months. Seeing what types of properties sold in the previous months can give you a good idea of what to expect when you’re prepared to hit the market yourself.
