The best way to learn about the Gold Coast is…to take a tour, and the Sun-Times reports that you will have the opportunity to do so at 6 p.m. on July 16 & August 6th. In addition, tours are available on September 13th and then on October 18 at 10 a.m.
The Chicago Architecture Foundation will be providing the tours which will be two hours. You will be able to see and learn about residential real estate along Lake Shore Drive as well. In addition, the Astor Street Historic District is emphasized in the walking tour which includes a discussion of many elegant homes in the various period styles such as: Romanesque, Queen Anne, Tudor, Art Deco and Modern.
The tours will also provide a lot of insight about the historic happenings of famous people who originally lived in the Gold Coast.
