Holiday Season in the Second City: One More Reason to Relocate to Chicago

While there are many reasons to relocate to the Windy City, from the vibrant local culture to the top notch Chicago real estate, the incredible holiday season provides one more reason to make Chicago your home.  When the city’s amazing architecture is covered in fresh snow and the streets are strung with twinkling lights, there is really nothing else like it.
Of course, there are plenty of unique holiday activities that make Chicago a wonderful home – shopping on the Magnificent Mile, ice-skating in Millennium Park, and special events like this year’s Winter Classic hockey game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field.  And who could forget visiting the Walnut Room at Macy’s (a.k.a. the former Marshall Field’s) for the tree lighting ceremony and the corresponding parade?  If you have children or are planning on starting a family in the next few years, realize that the city’s holiday celebrations are the type of events that you and your kids will look back upon fondly for the rest of their lives.
Despite the sometimes freezing cold and less than pleasant winter weather, spending the holidays in Chicago – whatever you celebrate – is a truly special experience.  In fact, it is one more reason to relocate to Chicago – the knowledge that your new home is not just a Chicago real estate purchase; it is an investment in creating a wonderful future for yourself and your family.
