August was a pricey month for Chicago luxury condo sales, making it a bit of an anomaly. The August market is typically not as strong, with many people on vacation and the weather not always being the most agreeable for shopping for a new home.
Last month’s most expensive sale is located in a prestigious Gold Coast building, selling for just under $7 million. I’ve longed discussed how buyers are always looking for ample square footage when it comes to condo shopping, but this buyer got a generous amount of outdoor space too—a rarity for such a coveted location in the city. That’s a perk that many hope to find but never do, so it’s a feature that really differentiates that Chicago condo from others in the market.
If you’re in the market for a Chicago condo, I definitely recommend taking a look at last month’s sales details to get a feel for what has sold, with what amenities, at what price.
