The 10 Most Popular Luxury Chicago Condo Buildings

Every month I like to recap the top luxury sales from the previous month, both in single-family homes and condo sales. This look back helps reflect on what’s hot on the market month over month, and the price tag that comes with certain feature and amenities that luxury buyers are looking for.

Below we take a look at all of 2015, a year that experienced pretty consistent and healthy sales through each season. In the condo market in particular, it’s clear what buildings ranked high on buyer’s wish lists, each with something (or many somethings!) that is unique and makes it stand out among others. A few of those key features include:

Location: A downtown location or a direct line into the loop are crucial for a Chicago luxury condo. Not only does this make for an easy commute, it means close proximity to dining, shopping, nightlife and all of the great cultural activities the city has to offer.

Luxury services and amenities: Upscale condo buildings go far beyond a 24-hour door person and an exercise room. We’re talking world-class spa facilities, five-star concierge service, and everyday offerings (valet parking, pet services) that make luxury living more like a lifestyle.

Views: There isn’t a building on this list that doesn’t boast awe-inspiring views of the city skyline, Lake Michigan or Millennium Park. Luxury buyers seek an incredible backdrop for their home–preferably through floor-to-ceiling windows, to boot.

In the list below you’ll find the top 10 Chicago condo buildings that had the most individual luxury condo sales last year. The parameters are simple: the sale closed in 2015, and sold for a minimum price of $1 million. Let’s take a closer look:
